[dropcap]O[/dropcap]lamilekan Massoud Al-Khalifah Agbeleshebioba, better known as Laycon, has publicly demanded his share of the profits from DJ Neptune’s hit single, “Nobody (Icons Remix).”

Laycon, who rose to fame after winning Big Brother Naija Season 5, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to call out DJ Neptune for failing to honour their agreement, four years after the song’s release.

Laycon’s tweet expressed his frustration over the long-standing issue, stating: “Abeg o… @deejayneptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years o 🤦🏾‍♂️ Cc @emPawaAfrica.”

Laycon calls out DJ Neptune

The “Nobody (Icons Remix)” featuring Laycon and Joeboy, another popular Nigerian artist, was a significant hit, amassing over 2.9 million views, 70,000 likes, and more than 3,000 comments on Youtube alone.

Despite its success, Laycon claims he has yet to receive his agreed-upon share of the profits from the song, leading him to air his grievances publicly.

DJ Neptune, whose real name is Imohiosen Patrick, has not yet responded to Laycon’s allegations.

The silence from DJ Neptune has sparked conversations within the Nigerian music industry, with fans and industry insiders eager to see how the situation unfolds.

This dispute highlights ongoing issues in the Nigerian music industry regarding royalties and profit-sharing, especially in collaborations involving multiple artists.

As fans await DJ Neptune’s response, the situation serves as a reminder of the importance of clear agreements and timely payments in creative collaborations.
