The match, set to take place today in Bloemfontein, carries high stakes for Nigeria as they seek to close the gap on group leaders Bafana Bafana.
Nigeria comes off a narrow 1-0 victory against Rwanda in Uyo, secured by Arokodare’s late goal, keeping them within striking distance.
Speaking on SuperSport on Monday, Siasia urged current head coach Eric Chelle to rely on Lookman’s brilliance in set-piece situations and Arokodare’s commanding presence upfront.
“We need to keep the ball, win free-kicks, and allow players like Lookman to make the difference. Arokodare can also be important in holding up play and creating chances,” Siasia said.
Despite South Africa’s impressive form — their best in over two decades — Siasia reminded fans that Nigeria has traditionally had the upper hand in this fixture.
A win today would reduce Nigeria’s points deficit to just three, maintaining the Super Eagles’ strong position in the qualification race.
