More details have emerged about the arms cache uncovered in the office of the ousted Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

Contrary to earlier reports, sources told Freelanews that security operatives assigned to the Assembly discovered the arms shortly after the new speaker took over.

The security team, during a routine sweeping exercise, found about 47 pump-action guns and live cartridges hidden within the speaker’s office space.

In addition to the arms, a huge sum of U.S. dollars was also recovered.

This revelation contradicts claims that the DSS found the weapons during their recent operation at the Assembly complex, where they attempted to gain access but were prevented.

Sources insist that the arms discovery happened weeks earlier, though the information is only now reaching the press.

Meanwhile, the recent DSS entry denial at the Assembly and speculations about the new speaker’s resignation are said to be unrelated to the arms find.
