Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki has emerged the winner of the ‘Most Popular Person’ over President Muhammadu Buhari, RCCG general overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye, billionaire Aliko Dangote and traditional ruler, Ooni of Ife.

All the prominent names listed above were nominated for the category of the ‘Most Popular Person’ at the just ended NET Honours People’s Choice Awards.

The head of the 8th Nigeria National Assembly emerged the winner after it was announced last night on the social media pages of media company, The NET.

How Bukola Saraki who has been off the politics radar since the last general election managed to beat the other people on the category remains a puzzle as reactions have followed it.

The media company however stated that the award is given based on Verified Audience Data.

See screenshot of their post on popular photo and video sharing social network, Instagram below:

Meanwhile, mixed reactions followed the announcement on their IG page as some felt she shouldn’t have been the winner of the category.

Some felt another person deserved the award as they noted that Dino Melaye should have been awarded but guess what? He is not even on the nomination list.
