BuzzFeed’s new local business lead
BuzzFeed has appointed Nicki Williams as the new local business lead for BuzzFeed Australia. Williams joined the company in 2017, and was most recently its group client director for APAC. She will take over from Andrea Ingham, who left BuzzFeed earlier this year to relocate. Her appointment comes just days after BuzzFeed announced it was ceasing its news operations in Australia and the UK.

Ex-MediCom duo launch agency
Former MediaCom strategy and innovation leads Mike Deane and Tim Russell have partnered to launch Saintsmiths, a communications consultancy to address the “messiness” of marketing. Collectively Deane and Russell have more than 35 years of global media, digital and creative agency experience. Deane has spent more than two years as MediaCom’s chief strategy officer across Australia and New Zealand, while Russell was most recently consulting with Fonterra’s global team, reviewing and relaunching the company’s planning process across 12 APAC markets.
