Naija Poetry Fest Lagos 2025 celebrates World Poetry Day with “Poetry in Motion.” Expect competitions, awards, and a stellar lineup of poets
Lagos is set to celebrate World Poetry Day with the highly anticipated Naija Poetry Fest 2.0, themed “Poetry in Motion: Wheeling Around the World.”

The event, a collaboration with Alliance Française, will take place on March 21st, 2025, at 4 pm Nigerian time at the Alliance Française/Mike Adenuga Center in Ikoyi.
This literary extravaganza, nurtured by award-winning poet Godson Osarenren, author of “Bush Radio,” aims to elevate Nigerian poetry on the global stage. Naija Poetry Fest 2.0 promises an unforgettable experience for poetry enthusiasts of all ages.
The festival will feature a distinguished panel discussion with literary luminaries, providing insights and perspectives on the art of poetry.
Additionally, internationally acclaimed Nigerian poet Lanre Sonde will showcase his collaborative exhibition, “Sonder with Sonde and the Silent Witnesses,” alongside visionary art illustrator Ovie Mac Solomon. This unique fusion of poetry, storytelling, and conceptual art is expected to captivate the audience.
Attendees can anticipate a vibrant program filled with poetry competitions, prestigious awards, and engaging musical performances. The event will celebrate the power of words to bridge cultural divides and connect people worldwide.
