The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) now has a permanent home, thanks to the dedicated support of the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.

The Director-General of the NFVCB, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, expressed profound gratitude to Minister Musawa, crediting her intervention for the allocation of a long-recovered property by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2017.

“After nearly three decades, the NFVCB has finally secured a home of its own under the leadership and support of the Honourable Minister,” said Dr. Husseini.

“This milestone strengthens our institutional capacity and sets the stage for a museum that honors Nigeria’s audiovisual legacy.”

This NFVCB permanent headquarters represents more than just a building — it’s a symbol of progress, resilience, and the Federal Government’s commitment to cultural preservation.

The planned museum within the new complex will become a national center for Nigeria’s rich film heritage, offering access to stakeholders, creatives, and researchers.

Minister Musawa, in her remarks, lauded Dr. Husseini’s leadership, describing him as passionate, resilient, and an asset to the creative sector.

“This permanent headquarters represents a new era for the board. It will amplify our ability to fulfill Mr. President’s vision for the creative economy and elevate Nigeria’s cultural identity globally,” she stated.

She further praised the DG’s proactive work aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes empowerment within the cultural and creative industries.

Looking ahead, Dr. Husseini revealed that the NFVCB will host a Digital Conference in November, aimed at deepening collaboration between the board and the Ministry.

The event is expected to provide a strategic platform for discussing digital transformation, policy development, and creative industry investment.
