NHD Foundation scholarship Jigawa launches for 100 students, boosting education access and easing financial burden for families
The Nasiru Haladu Danu Foundation has launched a scholarship programme for over 100 indigent students across the five Emirates of Jigawa State, marking a significant boost to educational development in the region.

The initiative was unveiled on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi Auditorium of Federal University Dutse, in the presence of top academic and traditional leaders.
Founder and Chairman of the foundation, Nasiru Haladu Danu, said the programme reflects a powerful commitment to human capital development and long-term educational support.
“Education is the bedrock of any prosperous society. Today we support these hundred students, but tomorrow, we intend to cast our nets wider,” Danu said, revealing plans to expand the initiative to primary school pupils in the future.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Gumel, and the Registrar, Abubakar Mijinyawa, witnessed the inauguration, underscoring institutional support for the programme.
The traditional institution was also represented, with the Emir of Dutse, Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, delegating a high-powered team led by the Chiroman Dutse, Bashir Nuhu Sanusi.
Other dignitaries present included Bashir M. Dalhatu and several prominent titleholders, reflecting strong community backing for the initiative.
Jigawa State Coordinator of the foundation, Nasiru Sani Musa, said the scheme will cover tuition and educational materials for beneficiaries, easing financial pressure on families.
