Courage reportedly attacked Mary Chizzy Eze, the head of makeup, on October 28, 2025, during the filming of “Lagos to Opulence.”
A viral video of the incident showed the production manager slapping Eze before pressing her throat, sparking widespread outrage on social media and prompting calls for justice from industry stakeholders.
In response, the Nigeria Film Crew Community (NFCC) issued a strongly worded statement on Thursday, describing Courage’s behaviour as “animalistic” and “unacceptable.”
“The production manager violently hit and strangled Mary Chizzy Eze for speaking up against unequal treatment among the crew. While she has received medical care, he has been arrested,” the NFCC said.
The group also urged Nollywood producers and production houses to blacklist Courage from future film projects, adding that such acts of violence undermine professionalism and human dignity in the industry.
“This level of disregard for human dignity is unacceptable. We stand firmly against all forms of abuse, assault, and crew maltreatment,” the statement added.
Lagos police officials confirmed that Courage had been taken into custody and would face charges once investigations are concluded.
