A former Nigerian senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, has lamented the kidnap of a paramount ruler in Kaduna and warned that no evil must befall him.
Recall it was reported that the paramount ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Danladi Gyet Maude, has been abducted by bandits on his farm.
According to Anthony Maude, a brother to the 80-year-old first-class monarch who spoke to journalists on the phone, said that the royal father was abducted on his farm at Gitata in neighbouring Nasarawa State.
In his reaction, Sani took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to air his view.
“The Kidnapping of Southern Kaduna paramount ruler Kpop Ham Danladi Maude is another tragedy in our dear Kaduna State. Its no more who is safe but who is next. Our people live at the mercy of evil forces. No harm should befall this King. All hands must be on deck,” he wrote.
This abduction is coming on the heels of the indefinite suspension of schools’ resumption, by the State Government on Monday, due to banditry and kidnappings in the state and its inability to nip these menace in the bud.
