Renowned author and Gospeller, Reno Omokri, has stirred a discussion on the role of women in religious leadership, urging adherence to scriptural principles and challenged the popular trend of appointing female leaders in churches, particularly referring to them as ‘Mummy GOs’ (General Overseers).

In a recent post on his X handle, Omokri emphasized the importance of aligning lifestyle choices with the teachings of Scripture, particularly concerning women’s roles in the church.
Drawing from biblical references, Omokri quoted passages attributed to the Apostle Paul, asserting that women should remain silent in churches and not assume teaching or authoritative roles over men.
He also highlighted Yeshua’s choice of twelve male disciples, aligning it with the divine instruction given to Moses in Deuteronomy 18:5, specifying that only males were to serve in the Temple of God.
Omokri argued against the practice of appointing wives of ministry founders as successors, deeming it an abomination. He called for a rejection of lifestyle adjustments that deviate from scriptural guidance and emphasized the unscriptural nature of allowing women in prominent religious leadership positions.
Omokri asserted that women, regardless of their status, should hold no higher or lower positions than other members in the church.

You can allow women to head, lead, minister and teach in your church denomination. But when you do that, please do not say you are following Yeshua or the faith He taught and practiced. Do not also say that you believe in Scripture or the Bible. Whatever you are doing is your own religion. Because both Scripture and the Bible are crystal clear.
Paul, who taught grace, said:
“Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.”-1 Corinthians 14:34.
He also said:
“A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.”-1 Timothy 2:11-12.
Yeshua, our Lord, had about 600 followers, of whom the majority are believed to be women. His main financiers, according to the Bible in Luke 8:2-3, were women. Those verses say:
And also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
Yet, Yeshua chose 12 disciples. All MALE. Why? Because that is what God told Moses. Only males were to serve in the Temple of God-Deuteronomy 18:5.
Even His mother, Mariam, was given absolutely no role in His ministry. Nobody prayed to her or sought religious guidance from her. And when she attempted to interrupt His ministration on a particular occasion, Yeshua IGNORED her. We see this in Matthew 12:46-49:
While Yeshua was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers
Please take it from Scripture, not me. There is no room for Mummy GOs. It is completely unscriptural. If you like, call me ‘assistant God’ or ‘PA to Jesus’. I will not be intimidated to follow the crowd instead of Scripture. No GO, overseer or Bishop of any ministry should allow his wife to usurp authority over anybody in that church, whether male or female. She is just another ordinary member, like any other person. With no higher or lower status.
Additionally, no founder should die, and the ministry will be inherited by his wife as the new Bishop or GO. That is an abomination wherever and whenever it happens.
You guys rush to twist Scripture and adjust it to your lifestyle. You say, what about Deborah. Deborah was a judge. A judge in ancient Israel was a military-political office. Samson, Gideon, Jephthah, and Ehud were also judges. They were not priests. God raised judges ONLY when there was a military crisis that required the Israelites to have a Commander-in-Chief.
Samuel was a priest, prophet and judge. He combined all three offices.
Anna, the prophetess, never officiated or held any position in the Temple. Please read it in Black and White in Luke 2:37.
“She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.”
Women are allowed to be prophets. A prophet or prophetess gives prophecies from God. They do not hold leadership positions. And if a male prophet held a leadership position in Scripture, it would be because he was either also a judge (which was a political office) or because he was equally a priest. But he did not hold the position by virtue of his being a prophet alone.
As I have said multiple times, adjust your lifestyle to Scripture. Do not adjust Scripture to suit your lifestyle. Or even change your lifestyle to fit your church or pastor.
You can allow women to head, lead, minister and teach in your church denomination. But when you do that, please do not say you are following Yeshua or the faith He taught and practiced. Do not also say that you believe in Scripture or the Bible. Whatever you are doing is your own…
