Senator Mudashiru Husain has declared for the Osun 2026 gubernatorial election, pledging unity, loyalty, and service-driven leadership under APC

The quest for Osun 2026 gubernatorial election took a defining turn on Tuesday as frontline aspirant, Senator Mudashiru Husain, officially declared his ambition at the Osun State APC Secretariat in Osogbo, in the presence of the State Chairman, Hon. Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, alongside other members of the state executive committee.

In his address, the former two-term house of representative member representing Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency and the lawmaker who represented Osun West Senatorial District, described his ambition as a bold step towards setting pace for APC’s victory in Osun as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

The erstwhile NPC federal commissioner reiterated that his political trajectory has been guided by divine grace, loyalty to the progressive family, and a consistent record of service to the people.

“My ambition is service-driven and poised to align Osun State to the transformative renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu. This is in furtherance of the utilitarian progressive ideals we hold dear,” Husain said.

He further said: “From my days in Lagos where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu prepared to return me for a third term in the House of Representatives, to my sanctioned return to Osun where I eventually served as Senator for Osun West, my journey has been about humility, loyalty, and service to the people.

Today, I stand ready to lead Osun with Irọrun De, an all-inclusive agenda that will restore dignity, ease, and prosperity to our dear state.”

The Ejigbo-born politician also reiterated that all aspirants within the APC are qualified, but unequivocally emphasized that his depth of experience, long-standing consistency in the progressive tendency, and his record of being a unifying rallying point uniquely position him for leadership at this critical time.

He, however, pledged to run an inclusive campaign that unites the party and projects APC as the people’s choice come 2026.

In his remarks, the APC State Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Lawal, lauded Senator Husain for his resilience and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fairness.

“We encourage you to sustain a peaceful, issue-based, and harmonious campaign across Osun, because we know all our aspirants standout. As a party, we remain committed to leveraging a level playing ground for all aspirants, ensuring that the best emerges to lead our state into a new era of progress,” he said.

In their separate remarks, former House of Representative Member, Hon. Bade Falade and former Ejigbo Local Government Chairman, Alh. Hassan Olaniyi described Senator Husain as a golden son of Ejigbo who has been collectively put forward to represent their shared interest in the governorship race, while urging the entire party structure to consider him as the party flagbearer due to his experience, integrity and other ideals he’s known for.

The event was attended by members of the state working committee, local government party chairmen, and other leaders who described Senator Husain’s declaration as a bold step that reflects his long-standing loyalty, humility, and commitment to the progressive family.

With his declaration, Husain has not only set himself firmly on the path of the 2026 governorship contest but also positioned his ambition as a rallying point for party unity, APC victory, and the consolidation of Asiwaju Tinubu’s national mandate in 2027.
