The initiative, named Ilerioluwa and sponsored by Oyetola’s son, Femi Oyetola, was designed to support vulnerable residents, elderly citizens, people with disabilities, orphanage homes, and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The distribution of the food items took place at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office in Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, Osun State.
Speaking to journalists, Femi Oyetola said, “This initiative is the third edition aimed at extending a hand of love towards the vulnerable, aged, and people with disabilities in Osun Central Senatorial District.
In every festive season, we want to ensure that everyone feels included, which is why we are providing food hamper gifts for 5,000 households in 10 local government areas.”
Rev. John Adeleke, Osun State Chairman of CAN, lauded the initiative, noting that it would help cushion the impact of hunger during the festive season. He said the packages would be distributed to vulnerable members across the state.
Represented by Apostle Samson Opadotun, Adeleke also encouraged wealthy Nigerians to extend acts of generosity to the needy, particularly during festive and challenging periods.
Similarly, Adewale Nafiu, the APC leader of People With Disabilities in Osun State, disclosed that over 100 households of persons with disabilities benefited from the initiative across political divides.
