Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of Oyo SUBEB, received the Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene Award for his contributions to Ibadan’s development, with commendations from teacher unions

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran received the prestigious Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene, MDII, Award on Saturday, for his contributions to the development of Ibadan land.

The award was presented by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, the apex body of socio-cultural clubs, societies, unions and associations of Ibadan indigenes in all spheres of life, home and abroad.

CCII had in a letter signed by its President-General, Chief Sulaiman Ajewole and Chairman, Ibadan Week Festival Planning Committee, Chief Abiola Alli, said the council was concerned and committed to the sustenance of cultural heritage and economic development of Ibadan land.

CCII said the award was in recognition of Adeniran’s contributions to the growth and development of Ibadan land.

The award was well deserved, adding that it is a sign of recognition of Adeniran’s contributions to the development of basic education in Ibadan land and beyond.

Reacting, the Nigeria Union of Teachers and the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria, AOPSHON congratulated Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, on the award.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Oyo state chapter, Com. Raji Oladimeji said the award was well deserved, adding that it is a sign of recognition of Adeniran’s contributions to the development of basic education in Ibadan land and beyond.

Likewise, the Chairman AOPSHON, Oyo State, Com. Ilori Omoshola congratulated Adeniran, saying the award would spur him to do more for Ibadan land.

In his remarks, Dr. Adeniran expressed gratitude to the CCII leadership and members for the honor and praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in the basic education sub-sector.
