Former president of Nigeria, President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared that the former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is not important to him.
He made this revelation during an interview with the founder of Joy, Inc. and host of the viral TV show #WithChude, Chude Jideonwo.

Obasanjo, however, insisted that for a Nigeria he believed the citizens deserve at the moment, Obi is the only candidate that fits the role.
“Young people are very important, and in any society, if you ignore your young people, you ignore the society.
“What do we say today again in Nigeria? More than 60% of our population is below the again of 25 or something like that. What are you going to do about them? What are you going to do for them? When those who come to power only think about the next election, and not the next generation. And for as long as we’re not thinking of the next generation, we’re destroying their future.
“It’s not Peter Obi that is important to me; it’s Nigeria that is important. Peter Obi is not the issue but Nigeria to me is the issue.
“For Nigeria I believe we need to have at this point in time, Peter Obi is… ,” he said, leaving the statement hanging, but nodded in agreement when Chude completed the statement for him.
The former president, who openly supported and campaigned for Obi during the last election made other interesting claims regarding his successors and the future of the country.
