The Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) Women Entrepreneurs & Empowerment Programme aims to equip participants with entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy, and enterprise support to foster sustainable livelihoods.
Dr Akpos Mezeh, General Manager, Community Relations and Stakeholder Engagement at PINL, confirmed that data capturing and verification have been completed in Port Harcourt and Yenagoa, with beneficiaries set to be contacted soon.
“Through this initiative, 2,000 women will receive empowerment before the end of the year—marking a major step in PINL’s commitment to gender inclusion and local enterprise development,” he said.
The programme complements PINL’s youth scholarship scheme, which will be disbursed in October, ensuring broader participation and equitable benefit across underrepresented communities.
PINL is also collaborating with government agencies and environmental experts to implement social and environmental initiatives along the pipeline corridor.
On security, Dr Mezeh highlighted strengthened partnerships with local stakeholders and security agencies, which have helped maintain uninterrupted operations and prevent pipeline vandalism.
Recent efforts thwarted multiple vandalism attempts in Bonny, Eteo, Ikata, and Ogbo.
PINL’s engagement has expanded to include Biseni in Bayelsa State, reflecting the company’s commitment to national energy security and community development.
“We are not just a pipeline protection company. We are a development partner—committed to transforming lives, promoting peace, and building enduring prosperity through purposeful collaboration,” Dr Mezeh emphasised.
