Akure, Ondo State – The local community is in shock following the tragic murder of Mrs. Olakunbi Adene, the well-known caterer and Chief Executive of Country Kitchen. Mrs. Adene was found hacked to death in her residence along Oda Road, just five days after celebrating her 54th birthday.
The gruesome discovery was made by neighbors who noticed her lifeless body on her bed and immediately alerted the caretaker. Described as hale and hearty before the incident, Mrs. Adene’s sudden and violent death has left her family, friends, and the community devastated.
A family source revealed that Mrs. Adene had recently celebrated her birthday, entertaining numerous guests with food and drinks at her residence. Her husband, Dele Adene, expressed his profound shock and disbelief at the news of her death, questioning the lack of arrests made so far.
“I was told that my wife’s corpse was found on her bed in a pool of blood, which showed she was hacked to death. I cannot believe that no arrest has been made up till the moment of talking to you. I feel suspects should have been arrested,” Mr. Adene stated. He urged the authorities to track her phone and investigate how such a brutal crime could occur unnoticed in a building with four flats.
Tejumade, the deceased’s daughter, recounted how the house caretaker called her with the heartbreaking news of her mother’s murder. The family’s grief is compounded by the sudden and violent nature of her passing.
The remains of Mrs. Adene have been taken to the mortuary in Akure. Confirming the incident, state police spokeswoman Funmi Odunlami stated that an investigation is currently ongoing.
The community is calling for justice and swift action by the authorities to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
