RC Ikoyi Metro makes a positive impact at Ikoyi Correctional Center, providing relief materials and legal support to help inmates rebuild their lives
Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro has once again demonstrated the power of compassion and community service through its impactful outreach to inmates of the Ikoyi Correctional Center in Lagos.
On Saturday, 18 October 2025, under the admirable leadership of President Alexander Chukwu, the club carried out its signature project, an enhanced version of its annual initiative designed to meet the evolving needs of inmates.
This year’s visit followed a careful needs assessment and reflected a deeper commitment to improving welfare and restoring hope.
The club’s leadership and members distributed essential supplies including Rose tissue, detergent, antiseptic bathing soap, Savlon, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, sponges, rubber bath slippers, branded plastic buckets, and packing bags.
The humanitarian gesture was received with warmth and emotion, creating moments of reflection and gratitude within the correctional facility.

President Chukwu, alongside the Immediate Past President and other leaders, addressed the inmates, urging them to embrace positive values and prepare for a future beyond confinement. Their speeches inspired a sense of renewal and optimism among the inmates.
Beyond the donation of materials, RC Ikoyi Metro has taken a bold step to address a deeper issue—offering legal aid to inmates with minor charges.
