A call has been made to the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State to ensure fairness and equity in distribution of its posts and position in the coming local government election.
In a release made available to Freelanews, Alhaji Adebogun Akanni on behalf of Oke Ogun Descendants has urged that “choosing representatives of Abeokuta LGA team in the coming dispensation at grassroot must reflect fairness and equity.”
“According to the information reaching us, it has been established that a non Oke Ogun person will be announced as the party flagbearer. Hence, the need to ensure that a bonafide Oke Ogun son is also made to represent our community in the scheme of things.”
While appreciating the party and its leadership for heeding the càll not to field an outsider who wanted to hide under Oke Ogun to advance their political aspirations, the group also urge that the party must ensure the Vice Chairmanship slot be zoned to Oke Ogun for balanced representation in the local government.
Recall that the group had made a call to the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to come to their aid as the leader of APC in the state urging that the party leadership should not allow the injustice of fielding a non Oke Ogun aspirant to represent the community to stand as it is capable of robbing them of their opportunity in the future.
