The action was confirmed by senior party sources on Thursday.
The Conservative Party leader stated that Jenrick had been found to be secretly plotting a defection intended to inflict maximum damage on his colleagues and the party.
“The British public are tired of political psychodrama and so am I,” the leader said.
“They saw too much of it in the last government, they’re seeing too much of it in this government. I will not repeat those mistakes.”
Political analysts say the suspension is one of the most high-profile disciplinary actions in recent months, signalling the party’s determination to maintain cohesion amid concerns over internal defections.
Jenrick, a prominent figure with previous ministerial roles, was seen as a key contributor within the Shadow Cabinet.
His removal highlights the party’s strict stance on loyalty and internal discipline.

Observers suggest the move could reshape internal party dynamics and act as a deterrent to MPs considering similar actions ahead of future parliamentary debates and electoral contests.
