The inauguration ceremony, which saw a strong turnout of committee members, took place yesterday at The Rotary Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.

The event signifies a renewed emphasis on enhancing the visibility and effective communication of Rotary’s various projects and activities within the district.

A central highlight of the ceremony was the appointment of Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator (ARPIC) Ehi Braimah as the chairman of the Public Image (PI) Committee.

Alongside him, other dedicated committee members were officially sworn in, ready to commence their responsibilities aimed at further promoting the image and core values of Rotary International.

During his address at the inauguration, District Governor-elect (DGE) Adedoyin underscored the paramount importance of public image in advancing Rotary’s global mission and impact.

“The importance of Public Image cannot be over-emphasised, and Rotary International (RI) places a very high premium on our image because that is what we advertise to the world; that is who we are. And we just need to be conscious of whatever we do,” he stated.

DGE Adedoyin further stressed that all service-oriented activities shared with the public must consistently reflect Rotary’s enduring motto: Service Above Self.

He also highlighted the strategic significance of the various subcommittees operating under the Public Image umbrella, referring to them as the crucial “backbone” of the committee’s overall work.

According to a statement released by the committee’s secretary, Rotarian Victor Ojelabi, the newly appointed chairman, ARPIC Ehi Braimah, reaffirmed the committee’s unwavering commitment to conveying Rotary’s message with the utmost professionalism and integrity throughout the upcoming year.

“The importance of Public Image cannot be over-emphasised, and Rotary International (RI) places a very high premium on our image because that is what we advertise to the world; that is who we are. And we just need to be conscious of whatever we do.” – Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, Incoming District Governor of Rotary District 9112

Accepting his new leadership role, ARPIC Braimah expressed his sincere gratitude to the incoming Governor and pledged his dedication to leading a successful Public Image year for the district.

“We are more than ready to ensure the Rotary year 2025/26 is a successful one,” ARPIC Braimah affirmed.

A significant aspect of the event was the introduction of Past Assistant Governors (PAGs) Kayode Aderinokun, Lanre Kasim, and John Senaya as Resource Advisers to provide valuable support and guidance to the committee.

Their inclusion, based on their extensive experience within Rotary, is expected to significantly enhance the smooth and effective execution of planned initiatives.

The newly inaugurated Public Image Committee comprises several vital subcommittees, each with a specific focus: Social Media/Website (led by Rotarian Oromena Osugo), Humanitarian Reporting Awards (led by Assistant Governor Isichei Osamgbi), Rotary Day of Service (led by Rotarian Past President Kemi Folorunsho), Editorial Committee (led by Rotarian Muyiwa Akintunde), and Global Rotary Radio (led by Rotarian David Obadan).

These dedicated units will play integral roles in implementing the district’s comprehensive image strategy throughout the 2025/26 Rotary year.
