Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, collapsed on Thursday during an event at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Bawa became enraged while giving a lecture on the importance of digital identification in commemoration of National Identity Day, blaming his actions on the death of a commission employee.
He did not, however, divulge the employees’ identities.
He stepped down from the stage, sat in his chair, and then slumped, claiming he couldn’t complete his speech.
The EFCC boss was then immediately rushed out of the hall, accompanied by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr Isa Pantami.
Shortly after, Mr Pantami returned to the hall and said he was now in a stable condition.
The event continued thereafter.
