‘Sanwo-Olu listens’ Lagos govt brings succour, unveils intervention programme (Video)

happy birthday governor babajide sanwo olu

The Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu administration through the Office of Civic Engagement will be launching the second phase of the Sanwo- Olu Listens. A life changing social welfare intervention program designed to provide Support, Financial Assistance and Opportunities all aimed towards helping vulnerable Lagos citizens STAND AGAIN.

The Sanwo-Olu Listens social welfare intervention program clearly demonstrates the unbridled passion of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in bringing succor to vulnerable families in Lagos State, further ravaged by adverse effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic as well as the EndSARS protest. Hordes of Lagosians still smarting from the decimating effects of these occurrences and deserve compassion, love and care; the very emotions that spurred our amiable and sensitive governor into mitigating these outcomes.

A man of integrity, committed to walking the talk of uplifting lives and making a difference, Mr. Governor would have nothing short of absolute transparency in the selection of beneficiaries of the initiative. To that extent, Lagosians were asked to nominate people around them whom they know need help, as was widely broadcasted and pushed on social media and various branding platforms. Hundreds of thousands of entries were received.

Through the Lagos State Office of Civic Engagement, an Intra-Ministerial Screening Committee carries out the process of selecting beneficiaries in a disciplined and transparent manner.

From this pool the first batch of the programme “Sanwo-Olu” listens was successfully executed last year with many lives touched.

For the second batch, another set of beneficiaries from this same pool of nominees will be empowered on this week.
