Governor Sanwo-Olu confirms the arrival of three new train sets for the Lagos Blue Line to boost Phase Two of the rail project, stretching from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko by 2026


[dropcap]L[/dropcap]agos Blue Line infrastructure has recorded a major boost as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the arrival of three brand new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.

The governor’s announcement, detailed in a press statement by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril A. Gawat, marks a significant step forward in the delivery of Phase Two of the Blue Line project.

This phase will see the rail line extended from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, with completion targeted for 2026.

The arrival of these new trains demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transforming transportation in Lagos through reliable, safe, and efficient infrastructure

The new train sets are expected to improve operational efficiency and support the smooth rollout of services along the extended corridor.

The LRMT Blue Line is a key component of the state’s multi-modal transport strategy aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing urban mobility.
