Speaking during his Thank You Tour to Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area in Ogun East Senatorial District, the former two-term Governor of Ogun State from 2003-2011, emphasised the need for perseverance and cooperation with the government to address the nation’s economic downturn.
Senator Daniel expressed his desire for President Tinubu to directly address the nation on its state but acknowledged that constraints within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tinubu’s party, hindered such communication.
Addressing the crowd, Senator Daniel said, “Our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done a lot. I wish he could talk now, but he can’t because this is the same party he stood for. However, we just have to praise his courage. We know things are very difficult, but we need to encourage Mr. President. We urge our people to be patient, and by the special grace of God, everything will be alright.”
During the event, over 12,000 food packs were distributed to constituents, and locals were equipped with tools such as grinding machines, generators, and sewing machines to support their livelihoods.
Senator Daniel reiterated his commitment to poverty eradication, stating, “We have been doing this for nearly 30 years, and we are not going to rest until we completely eradicate poverty in our land.”
He further called for prayers for President Tinubu, emphasising that unity among Nigerians would facilitate smoother governance and alleviate the nation’s challenges.
