The accused male student, also from the law department, allegedly dismissed the incident, prompting her to expose the assault on social media.
According to Boluwatife, during the party hosted by a fellow law student, one of the host’s friends inappropriately touched her without her consent.
Andn when she confronted the host about the assault, he purportedly downplayed the gravity of the situation, stating that it was a misunderstanding.
“I come to your party and your friend grabs my bum without consent. You’re na coming to meet me to say I should let it go, you’ve spoken to your friend, it was a misunderstanding and I was ‘whining my waist in front of him.’ A Law student. Shame on you!” she expressed on social media.
Boluwatife’s post has ignited a discourse on social media platforms, with many expressing support for her courage in speaking out against sexual assault. However, there were also mixed reactions, with some suggesting that the incident might have been blown out of proportion.
Undeterred, Boluwatife addressed those who downplayed the seriousness of the assault, particularly within the legal community.
“I was livid after he touched me, so I was yelling at him when he tried to deny. Shame on all you Law boys that told me I’m overreacting and I should keep quiet. Your party was more important than ensuring I was protected,” she asserted.
