Held at 5005 Jackson Street, the “SIDEONE & FRIENDS” concert brought together some of Nigeria’s most celebrated music icons and an enthusiastic crowd of Afrobeats lovers in the heart of the DMV area.
The night was billed as A Night With the Legends, and it lived up to its name.
With legendary artists like Olu Maintain, Eddy Remedy, Kelly Handsome, Dotman, Abizzy, Shady Baby, Lord of Ajasa, Naomi Achu, Pardon C, ADX Artquake, YQ, Bolo Jay, Dekunle Fuji, and X-Project gracing the stage, the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.
DJ sets from the acclaimed DJ Jamstar, DJ X-One, and DJ Famous ensured the energy never dipped, while charismatic hosts Kelvin Boj and MC Wallywa had the audience buzzing all night long.
Adding to the celebration were mesmerising drum and saxophone performances and a standout appearance by The Ogeez, African Hip-Hop pioneers, which paid homage to the genre’s roots.
In his emotional speech, SideOne expressed sincere appreciation:
“I am deeply grateful for the love and support shown to me. August 30 was magical—everyone looked incredible and brought unmatched energy. DMV, you truly showed up.”
The event also showcased the meteoric rise of Afrobeats in America, with the crowd fully immersed—dancing, singing, and celebrating in true Nigerian style.
