The DSS specifically accused the respected lawyer of wrongly guiding his client and his supporters. The security agency made this allegation against Falana through its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, The Cable reports. Afunanya disclosed this while reacting to the refusal of the DSS to release the activist after the court had given the order for it.
The refusal of the DSS to obey a lawful court order had angered Sowore’s supporters and many Nigerians who subsequently took up placards to protest in front of the security unit headquarters. The DSS had reportedly fired live bullets in efforts to disperse the protesters.
