The celebrated Fuji maestro, also known as the pioneer of Dancehall Fuji, will lead the charge with an electrifying live performance to launch this year’s edition themed “SHAKARA.”

The 2025 celebration promises to embody the revolutionary spirit of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, blending Fuji, Afrobeat, and contemporary African rhythms in a vibrant showcase of sound and message.

Atawewe, renowned for his energetic stagecraft and genre-bending style, will headline a lineup of top Fuji artists delivering a night of rhythm, movement, and cultural fusion that bridges Nigeria’s traditional and modern music worlds.

Speaking on behalf of The City Pulse and Forsure Music Entertainment Ltd, Mr. Ayo Mojoyin hailed Atawewe’s participation as a defining moment for the festival.

He described it as “a cultural synergy between Afrobeat and Fuji that underscores Nigeria’s rich musical heritage.”

“Felabration has never just been about music; it’s about message, identity, and movement,” Mojoyin said. “Atawewe’s performance represents the voice of Fuji in the larger conversation of African music evolution.”

Felabration 2025 will run from 13 to 19 October, featuring live concerts, debates, fashion shows, art exhibitions, and street parades all celebrating Fela’s enduring legacy of freedom, unity, and social awareness.
