[dropcap]S[/dropcap]uper Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has urged his team to maintain their focus as they prepare for their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zimbabwe.
Nigeria revived their World Cup hopes with a crucial 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, climbing to fourth place in Group C with six points from five matches. The win put the Super Eagles back on track after a challenging start to their qualification campaign.
Looking ahead, Chelle is fully aware of the importance of Nigeria’s next game against Zimbabwe, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
“There is a second game on March 25th, so we need to be ready for this game,” Chelle said following the victory over Rwanda.
The Malian coach emphasized that his squad must remain vigilant and focused, with the Zimbabwe encounter providing another vital opportunity to secure points.
The Super Eagles will be eager to extend their winning momentum and continue their push for a spot in the 2026 World Cup, but Chelle has called for discipline and preparation ahead of their upcoming challenge against Zimbabwe.
