Super Eagles World Cup qualifier hopes are soaring as captain William Troost-Ekong leads the team into Friday’s crucial encounter with Lesotho, brimming with belief and unity.

Speaking from their base in Polokwane, South Africa, the defender emphasised the team’s confidence and unwavering focus as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
“We believe, we never stop believing,” said Troost-Ekong during training at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. “The boys are in camp, focused, and the spirit is high.”
Despite injuries and last-minute squad reshuffles, the Super Eagles World Cup qualifier campaign remains on track, with players like Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, and Terem Moffi stressing the importance of taking each match seriously.
“We just have to stay calm and do our job,” Bassey noted, while Ndidi reminded the squad not to look past the Lesotho game.
Nigeria will face Lesotho at 6pm local time (5pm in Nigeria) on Friday. With a win, the Super Eagles aim to firm up their standing in the qualification table before hosting Benin Republic.
