Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle veered off the road near a residential area, striking the children who were reportedly playing nearby.

Emergency services rushed the victims to a local hospital for treatment, and their current conditions are being monitored.

Residents expressed shock and grief over the incident, describing it as a tragic end to what should have been a day of celebration.

Local authorities have commenced investigations to determine the cause of the accident and whether any traffic violations were involved.

A spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority urged drivers to exercise extreme caution, especially during festive periods when pedestrian activity is high.
