Bluebird Communications, one of the leading second generation creative advertising agencies in Nigeria, opened shop in 1995, marked its 25th anniversary in Lagos recently.
The celebration, which was low-key and virtual one due to the coronavirus pandemic, indeed marked its significance of the brand building agency christened the “The Nest”.
Symbolically, Bluebird Communications had chosen as the theme for the anniversary, “Switch from the Norm” which has now turned out to be both instructive and prophetic, given the fact the COVID-19 pandemic has foisted on the whole world a new order and new normal across virtually all aspects of human endeavours, including the creative advertising field in which the agency plies its trade.
The agency, while counting down to its 25th anniversary celebration on its social media handles, said: “The conventional ways of doing things can no longer cut it, and the quicker we recognise and adopt new and improved ways of getting results the better. In a bid to disrupt what is considered normal, we try to debunk common beliefs that do not necessarily have to be so through this campaign. The countdown to our 25th anniversary continues.”
In keeping with the anniversary theme, the entire staff of the agency adopted a dress code that switched from the norm, as each of them (as a “bird”) with his/her wings in place, arrived in style to dance to the anniversary hip hop song in a video which the company displayed on its social media handle to herald the event.
Driven by a vision of becoming a worldwide recognisable marketing communications icon that continually delivers value to its stakeholders, the agency has been recognised and regarded for its credo of “Pushing the Limits”, in its avowed mission of brand building excellence. Its mission statement reads: “Pushing the limits with integrity to constantly deliver distinctive value, adding communication support for our clients’ brands”.
In its 25 years of existence, Bluebird Communications has worked with several leading brands in West Africa and beyond, spearheading small to large projects, and delivering communication solutions that convert every time. On its clientele are Toyota Nigeria Limited, Dangote, FBN Quest Trustees, Alomo Bitters, Leadway Assurance, European Union, African Alliance, Custodian Investment Plc, just to mention a few.
Over the years, Bluebird Communications has grown into an IMC group comprising: Intentici Media, which serves as the media buying/planning arm of the company, Ribbons World, a reputation management company, DigiEngage, a digital marketing and online business; and Pro Vision which is an out-of-home-activation company.
According to its managing director, Mr. Kayode Ebatamehi, Bluebird Communications, with its very keen eyes on technological innovation and modern marketing trends, is poised to give every brand in its portfolio the winning edge even in the post COVID-19 economy.
The company was founded by Mr. Kunle Ogunmefun, a seasoned marketing practitioner with almost 40 years’ experience, as a full service agency, and has been creating winning ideas, effective strategies, and innovative solutions.
