The strategic shift to T2 isn’t just a cosmetic change—it’s a powerful signal of the telecom company’s commitment to lead Nigeria’s digital future.
The transition to T2 is a cornerstone of a four-phase roadmap—Stabilisation, Modernisation, Transformation, and Growth.
This rebrand is more than a new logo; it signifies a fresh mission to align with the digital-first expectations of Nigerian consumers.
Following its acquisition by Lighthouse Telecoms in 2023, under the leadership of Thomas Etuh, 9mobile has undergone sweeping structural changes.
A revitalized board, new executive leadership, and a strategic infrastructure-sharing agreement with MTN Nigeria have all laid the groundwork for this transition.
Now in the Transformation phase, T2 rebrand embodies a forward-thinking, customer-centric vision.
CEO Obafemi Banigbe described it as “a total evolution” that redefines the company’s values and service delivery.
“T2 represents our next chapter,” Banigbe said. “We’re building a brand ready to thrive in the digital economy.”
Chairman Thomas Etuh echoed this sentiment, calling it “a rebirth” and “a new order.”
He thanked customers and regulatory partners for their unwavering support throughout the company’s journey.
“To our amazing customers, please accept my profound gratitude for believing in us… Together, with you, we are reclaiming all lost grounds,” he said.
Nigeria’s Minister for Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, praised T2 for embracing change and reaffirmed government support for bold, visionary players in the telecom sector.
Similarly, Lagos State Government expressed optimism about T2’s alignment with its digital economy agenda.
“T2 has come at the right time,” said Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin. “We welcome partners like T2.”
The T2 rebrand will be introduced in phases to ensure service continuity for current users.
Core pillars include Speed, Smart Living, Digital Lifestyle, and Trust—values that promise to redefine user experience across Nigeria.
As Nigeria’s telecom sector stands at the brink of a digital revolution, T2 rebrand positions the company not just to keep pace, but to lead the way.
