TAFTA celebrates Alumni achievements at ÀRÌRÀ 2025

TAFTA alumni homecoming 2025 celebrates graduates, launches Young Women Advisory Group, and strengthens creative community connections

Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) successfully hosted the inaugural ÀRÌRÀ alumni homecoming, bringing together graduates from Lagos, Ogun, and Kano to celebrate achievements and strengthen professional and creative networks. The event took place at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The gathering highlighted collaboration and artistic expression through performances, storytelling, and a series of friendly competitions.

A spoken word performance by Divinefavour Udechukwu, a TAFTA alumna, captured the essence of resilience and creativity, earning widespread applause from attendees.

A major feature of the event was the official launch of the TAFTA Young Women Advisory Group (YWAG).

The initiative aims to mentor young women within the academy’s network, equipping them with leadership skills and structured support to succeed in the creative industry.

Alumni described the launch as a significant step toward a more inclusive and empowered community.

JO Umoibom, Academy Lead at TAFTA, said: “ÀRÌRÀ reminds us why TAFTA exists. We are not only training young creatives, we are building a community that supports one another long after the classroom experience. The energy and camaraderie tonight reflect the strength and potential of this network.”

Chinedu Isagbah, Programs Manager for Lagos State, added that continuous alumni engagement strengthens the creative economy: “ÀRÌRÀ underscores the importance of learning, mentorship, and collaboration. This gathering contributes meaningfully to the professional and cultural ecosystem TAFTA has nurtured.”

With more than 57,000 young creatives trained and over 32,000 employed across the country, TAFTA continues to act as a catalyst for skills development and industry empowerment.

ÀRÌRÀ 2025 served as both a celebration of alumni accomplishments and a reaffirmation of the academy’s commitment to maintaining a vibrant and supportive network.
