The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) informs residents of the Federal Capital Territory of temporary power outages in some areas due to scheduled maintenance on its transmission substations.
In a statement released on Saturday by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, the company disclosed that its engineers would conduct maintenance at two substations between Saturday and Sunday, resulting in disruptions to electricity supply.
According to the statement, Gwagwalada and its environs will experience a four-hour power outage on Saturday, December 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as maintenance is carried out on a 60MVA transformer and associated equipment at the Gwagwalada 330/132/33kV substation.
On Sunday, December 29, maintenance at the Kukwaba 132/33kV Transmission Substation will cause power interruptions from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Wuye, EFCC, Federal Medical Centre, Coca-Cola, Idu Railway Station, Citec, and Life Camp.
TCN assured residents that the maintenance is necessary to ensure optimal performance of the power equipment and apologized for the inconvenience, particularly during the festive season.
