Reacting to a recent post alleging improper transaction practices involving a staff member of an agency under the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, the Lagos Commissioner, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed that the individual had been identified as a bona fide staff member.
He disclosed that he had directed the officer to report to the ministry’s Head Office for immediate disciplinary proceedings, describing the move as part of the state government’s strict enforcement of ethical standards.
In his strongly worded statement, Wahab declared, “Let this be a clear warning to any public servant engaging in unethical practices: we have zero tolerance for misconduct.”
He further assured that the Lagos State Government remains unwavering in its pursuit of good governance, built on transparency and accountability at all levels.
Wahab also commended the vigilant citizen who drew attention to the issue, emphasising that civic participation plays a vital role in maintaining integrity within government institutions.
“Your voice matters in our collective pursuit of good governance,” he added, stressing that citizen engagement strengthens the bond of trust between the government and the governed.
