The top finalists for the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year have emerged, recognising exceptional teachers in a rigorous, transparent competition.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he finalists for the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition have been announced.Organised by the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, this prestigious competition honours excellence in teaching across Nigeria.
Out of 1,477 entries received, 1,300 teachers advanced to the first phase. After thorough grading by the panel of judges, 136 teachers moved on to the second phase, culminating in the final selection of 11 top candidates.
The finalists include:
- Aniefiok Iniobong Udoh of Community Secondary Commercial School, Akwa Ibom State
- Nwosu Chinenye Augustina of Anthony Obaze Memorial Community Secondary School, Anambra State
- Ojo Olumuyiwa Olumide of Apex Group of Schools, Edo State
- Ojo Olufunke Adewunmi of Praise Worthy Secondary School, Ekiti State
- Akinyele Samuel of Kingdom Seed International School, Kogi State
- Abidoye Aderonke Ibiyemi of Kosofe Senior College, Lagos State
- Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu of Crown Grace School, Nasarawa State
- Kehinde Oladapo Olukayode of Molusi College, Ogun State
- Isaac Michael Ayodele of CAC Grammar School, Ondo State
- Famuyide Florence Bola of Olatunde Comprehensive High School, Osun State
- Abiodun Regina Nwagbo of Mother’s Joy College, Oyo State
Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sade Morgan, praised the judges for their rigorous evaluation, emphasising the fairness and transparency of the selection process.
She encouraged the finalists to continue striving for excellence as they advance to the next stage.
The winner of the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition will be determined through interviews and evaluations by a panel of esteemed judges.
The grand finale, scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will feature the announcement of the winner.
Special guests include Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yussuf Sununu, and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Since its inception, the competition has recognised over 200 teachers, rewarding them with significant prizes for their contributions to education in Nigeria.
