The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State has reacted to the allegations of using its members as witnesses in the ongoing trial at the election tribunal challenging the legitimacy of the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

In the statement made available to Freelanews, the state publicity secretary of the party, 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗷𝘂 𝗔𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗲, lashed out at the author of such innuendos and political irresponsibility of those in the embattled governor’s camp.

“The attention of the Ogun state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to another tales of innuendos authored by some faceless APC lazy louts masquerading as journalists plying their perfidious endeavours in order to confuse innocent members of the public.

“For us a disciplined and responsible political organization, while we do not trade in frivolities 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙟𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙙𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙡, we shall try to set the records straight so that innocent members of the public are not drowned in an ocean of deliberate misinformation and outright falsehood.

“The height of the unprofessionalism exhibited by the watery release was evident as the faceless writer could not even mention the correct name of their counsel who represented their client at the Tribunal, what a shame!” he wrote.

The publicity secretary also added, “As usual, ours is to abide by the professional counsel of the honorable tribunal by not disclosing the identities of witnesses to the members of the public. We have, since the commencement of the trial, been calling our witnesses and we are equally satisfied with the testimonies given the panel so far. 𝘼𝙋𝘾 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙖𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨.

“Our party is principled and disciplined,we would not engage in media trial like the APC. 𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩.

“Thus, if the APC and their gang of unprofessional media handlers still hope to indulge in unethical conducts in order to impress their pathetic heroes, it is a journey that will ultimately lead to their Waterloo.

“The PDP and all our candidates who are before the tribunal shall continue to prosecute our cases with all available witnesses; both within and outside the party, that are central to our course.

“We understand why Dapo Abiodun and his APC are manifestly jittery; 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙣𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚.

“Again, we urge Mr. Dapo Abiodun, the placeholder in Ogun government house to get use to life outside government. Our government house will not continue to be the abode of pickers and elements with questionable characters.”
