Trump Russia Sanctions call demands NATO allies halt oil imports from Moscow and join in united action, while also urging tariffs on China
Writing on his Truth Social platform, Donald Trump said he was “ready to do major sanctions on Russia” once every NATO nation agreed to stop buying Russian oil and implement parallel penalties.

He branded European purchases of Russian energy “shocking” and accused allies of undermining their bargaining position with Moscow.
Trump linked his stance to the Kremlin’s intensifying war in Ukraine, which he said was being bankrolled by oil sales.
His remarks followed last weekend’s record aerial barrage on Ukrainian cities and a summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Alaska last month.
The US president also urged NATO members to hit China with tariffs of 50 to 100 per cent, arguing the move would weaken Beijing’s support for Moscow.
“China has a strong control, and even grip, over Russia, and these powerful tariffs will break that grip,” he wrote.
According to Trump, the tariffs would be lifted only once the war in Ukraine ends. He insisted such combined measures would bring the conflict to a close quickly.
“If NATO does as I say, the war will end quickly. If not, you are just wasting my time,” he warned.
Kyiv has grown increasingly frustrated with Trump’s repeated threats of sanctions without concrete action.

But his latest comments underline his belief that coordinated NATO pressure on both Moscow and Beijing is the only way to deliver results.
