United States President Joe Biden has officially launched his campaign for re-election in 2024, becoming the Democratic frontrunner in a race that could pit him for a second time against Republican contender, Donald Trump.

Biden’s announcement in a video on Tuesday came on the fourth anniversary of the start of his first successful presidential bid.

In a post on his official Twitter handle, the president is pivoting his campaign on tackling MAGA extremism and asked Americans to pitch in $5 to support his campaign.

MAGA or “Make America Great Again” is an American political slogan which was popularised by Donald Trump during his successful 2016 presidential campaign.

He claimed that he wants to continue in making the economy works for hardworking Americans.

“I’m running for reelection to do more than turn back the tide of MAGA extremism. I want to make our economy work for families like yours: the hard-working folks who are the backbone of this country. If you’re in, pitch in $5 to support our campaign,” he wrote, while directing supporters to https://secure.actblue.com

However, many had complained that there is no option of $5 available in the list on the landing page and alleged that Potus’ post was misleading.

It was noted that list starts from $10 to $2,000, but a closer look, a space was provided where supporters can directly input the value they wish to donate.
