[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith deep sadness yet profound gratitude, the Macaulay family has announced the passing of Adewole Adisa Macaulay, a beloved grandfather, father, brother, and an influential figure in Nigeria’s cultural landscape.

According to a release made available to Freelanews, Macaulay passed away in the early hours of November 4, 2024, at his residence in Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos, following a brief illness.
Macaulay’s illustrious career spanned acting, directing, and producing in the Nigerian film industry, where he was a respected member of Nollywood’s veteran community.
His contributions to the arts extended through his role as director of the Macaulay Heritage Foundation, where he championed cultural preservation and artistic growth.
He was also the visionary founder of Kazimba Musical Group, an ensemble known for its dynamic representation of Nigerian musical heritage.
Among his many works, Macaulay was the writer, producer, and director of the impactful play Rape of Gidiolu, which was showcased at the prestigious Muson Hall in Lagos.
He also lent his artistic voice to the Nigerian cultural group, where he played an active role in representing Nigeria’s cultural identity.
Macaulay’s legacy is carried on by his siblings, including Babatunde, Phillip, Gladstone, Ademola, Bodunrin, and Seun, as well as his sisters, Modupe, Adenike, and Funmilayo.
His cherished children, Bunmi and Mimi, and grandchildren, Natalya, Brian, Jasinelle, and Layla, remain to continue his heritage.
