Nollywood actor Kunle Afolayan announces the passing of his mother, Omoladun Afolayan, aged 81, sharing cherished memories online.

 

 

Nollywood actor and film producer Kunle Afolayan has announced the passing of his beloved mother, Omoladun Afolayan, who died at the age of 81.

The news, shared on Kunle’s Instagram page on Saturday, has left many fans and colleagues in mourning as he reminisced about cherished moments spent with his mother.

In his heartfelt post, Kunle Afolayan wrote, “It is hard to accept but she surely lived a good life. Our mother, Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, has gone to rest. (1943-2024).”

Accompanying the message were treasured photos of Omoladun, showcasing her joyful spirit alongside her grandchildren.

The film producer also requested prayers for his family during this difficult time, adding, “She is survived by children and grandchildren.

Please keep us in your prayers. Omo re a gbeyin gbogbo wa,” which translates to “Her children will take care of all of us.”

Kunle’s brother, fellow actor Gabriel Afolayan, also took to social media to express his sorrow. “Home is not cool. We lost a very dear one. You’d be greatly missed, big mummy (Iya Oyo).

We all love you to bits. I will miss my gist and dance partner. Rest on #maami. Big love to my sibs #kunleafo #aremumimostwantedlikecrudeoil,” he shared, highlighting the deep bond they shared as a family.

The passing of Omoladun Afolayan has touched many within the Nollywood community, who have rallied around the Afolayan family during this time of grief.
