Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Fatai Odua Adekunle Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has received N3 million to purchase his dream car following a heartfelt plea on social media. This gesture echoes a similar occurrence involving veteran actress Iya Gbonkan, who was also gifted a car by a fan after making a similar appeal online.
The opportunity for Lalude came after fellow actor, Kamo, took to social media to highlight Lalude’s lack of a vehicle, which was affecting his ability to participate in movie productions. Kamo, in a crowdfunding effort, explained Lalude’s situation and urged fans to assist him in acquiring a car. He pledged N1 million towards the cause, emphasizing the importance of a simple vehicle that would not burden Lalude with maintenance expenses.
Following the viral crowdfunding video, an anonymous fan stepped forward and generously contributed N3 million to Lalude’s car fund. In a video shared online, Lalude expressed his gratitude for the support received, confirming the receipt of the N3 million donation. He thanked the anonymous donor and everyone who had shown him love during his time of need.
“I am deeply grateful to the anonymous fan and all those who have shown me love and support. With this generous donation, I can now fulfill my dream of owning a car,” Lalude said.
