This initiative will equip participants with vocational and business management skills, contributing to the nation’s economic growth and gender inclusion.

The MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme is designed to run for 24 months and will cover all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. The programme focuses on providing women with vocational skills in food processing, fashion designing, and hairdressing, alongside business management training.

The 5-day training will include two days of soft and business skills, two days of vocational training, and a final day for assessment and evaluation.

SARA by Wema is Wema Bank’s dedicated platform to promote gender inclusion by offering women access to finance, market opportunities, healthcare, and networking.

By collaborating with key organisations like the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Wema Bank aims to drive meaningful change in women’s lives through initiatives like the MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme.

Wema Bank’s Executive Director of Retail and Digital, Tunde Mabawonku, highlighted the programme’s potential to help women navigate Nigeria’s challenging economic landscape.

“At Wema Bank, we are committed to empowering women by providing tailored solutions that enable them to succeed,” Mabawonku said.

She encouraged women across the country to register for the programme and join the SARA Community to access more opportunities.

Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that empowering women economically can address many gender inequality issues. “Wema Bank is ready to take on this challenge, and together we will achieve our objectives,” she said.
