FCT Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has firmly denied any connection to the ongoing Nnamdi Kanu trial, dismissing recent media reports as misleading. he stressed that he has not received any court summons or formal notice to appear.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Wike insisted, “You do not become a witness simply because your name appears in a newspaper.
Until I am served, I have no reason to appear in court.” He described the claims as baseless and cautioned against relying on unverified media speculation.
Wike also revealed his confusion over why Kanu listed him as a potential witness, noting that only the IPOB leader could explain the decision. “I never volunteered to be a witness; I do not know the basis for including my name,” he added.

The Minister reaffirmed his respect for the judicial system, emphasising that he would fully cooperate if formally summoned. Wike’s response highlights a proactive stance against the spread of false information while maintaining professionalism and transparency.
