Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Wike insisted, “You do not become a witness simply because your name appears in a newspaper.

Until I am served, I have no reason to appear in court.” He described the claims as baseless and cautioned against relying on unverified media speculation.

Wike also revealed his confusion over why Kanu listed him as a potential witness, noting that only the IPOB leader could explain the decision. “I never volunteered to be a witness; I do not know the basis for including my name,” he added.
