As the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party, continues to find its feet and resolve internal issues as the country moves towards another general elections in 2023, the South West zone chairman of the caretaker committee of the party, Dayo Ogungbenro, has asked a party member and former special assistant on media to the governor during the administration of Ayodele Fayose, Lere Olayinka, to desist from parading himself as the party’s spokesman in any official capacity.
The statement, which was issued on Thursday in Ibadan, warned public to disregard as fake and untrue any statement emanating from him.
The statement read:
“The general public is hereby advised to disregard any statement issued and signed by Lere Olayinka who claims to represent the PDP South West Zone. Olayinka is not the Zonal Director, Media or any other capacity of the PDP and was never appointed to any such position by the party.
“We note that Olayinka has been parading himself as PDP Zonal Director, Media and making statements to the claim.
“Olayinka’s claim to that position is false, fake and criminal.
“Olayinka is hereby warned to stop parading himself as Zonal Director, Media, of which disciplinary actions will be taken on a higher level if he fails to heed the warning.”
