An unidentified local government chairman in Ogun State has confirmed the allegations made by the embattled and impeached chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Wale Adedayo, against the state governor.

Recall that Adedayo had alleged that since the inception of the administration in 2019, no local government has been paid the allocation or entitlements due to them by the governor, Dapo Abiodun. READ DETAILS HERE

Adedayo’s revelations led to his three-day detention at the Department of State Services, DSS, his suspension and eventual impeachment by the legislative arm.

The unnamed local government chairman, whose identity remains unknown as at the time of filing this report, verified the allegations made by Adedayo against the Ogun governor.

The confirmation of Adedayo’s claims adds weight to the allegations and raises serious questions about the transparency and integrity of the state government.

“They want to sink us politically, a de nwo. If the governor is saying he was the one that gave us tickets, someone also gave him his ticket too!

“Ti iya nla ba gbe ni san le, kekere naa a ma g’ori eni. Awon assembly naa, won jo ko si assembly yen. They’re saying rubbish to the chairmen, then a de nwo. We’re elected chairmen, we’re not caretakers.

“Some of the lawmakers got elected from ordinary five wards. The speaker of Ogun State became elected with just five wards, while I was elected by eight wards in my local government,” the obviously upset chairman was heard saying in part.
