Nigerian rapper, Zlatan Ibile, recently disclosed that his childhood dream was to become a professional football player and play for the La Liga giants, Barcelona.
The ‘Zanku’ crooner shared insights into his early aspirations and journey into the music industry during an interview with Echo Room.
According to Zlatan, his passion for football was paramount during his youth, and he harbored dreams of joining prestigious clubs like Barcelona. However, after facing challenges in pursuing a football career due to corruption in Nigerian football, he shifted his focus.
Reflecting on his academic struggles, Zlatan admitted that he faced difficulties in subjects like Mathematics and Accounting during his secondary school days. After failing his WAEC exams, he found himself at a crossroads.
Despite the setbacks, Zlatan’s trajectory into the music industry was serendipitous. He stumbled into music when a friend played a song he had recorded, sparking his interest in pursuing music further.
“I never had the intention of being a musician,” Zlatan emphasized, highlighting the unexpected turn his career took. However, his friend’s encouragement and the allure of the music studio propelled him into the world of music.
