A 38-year-old man

A 38-year-old man, Rasheed Olawale, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on charges of stealing.

The defendant allegedly stole N3.7m from a company, Guinness Brewery Nigeria Plc.

He was arraigned on Wednesday before Magistrate H.B Mogaji.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Felicia Okwori, told the court that the defendants committed the offense between September 2022 and March 2023.

The charge read, “That you, Rasheed Olawale, and others now at large between September 2022 and March 2023 in the Ikeja Magisterial District did steal N3.7m property of Guinness Brewery Nigeria Plc by converting same to your use and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The magistrate, Mogaji, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till May 5, 2023, for mention.
